Your truth

There have been many moments in my life where I just did things because I was told to. Starting as kids, we’re told to listen to our parents, respect our elders, and so on. I don’t disagree with most of that stuff but I feel like sometimes listening to yourself should also be an option. It’s scary as shit to have a dream or a passion that you want to follow not knowing if you’re going to succeed or fail. In recent weeks I’ve tossed around the idea of just following the stream or truly listening to my truth. As I make more of a shift to follow my truth, I notice more people chatting with me about how I look or seem different. Naturally, I want to turn my head at the results, but there comes a point when we have to truly listen to ourselves and follow our own path. I’m not reinventing the wheel with this one but it’s a nice reminder to listen to your truth.
